Terms of Service

Thank you for using Front of the Napkin! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Front of the Napkin website and service. By using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

When we say "we", "us", or "our", we mean Steven Makes Things (a trade name of Ink and Feet LLC), the operator of Front of the Napkin. When we say "you" or "your", we mean you, the person using the service.

Account terms

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. We cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to do this.
• You are responsible for all content and activity under your account.
• You must be a human. Accounts created by bots or automated methods are not permitted.
• You must be at least 16 years old to use this service.
• You must provide a valid email address to complete signup.

What the service does

Front of the Napkin helps you evaluate business ideas. You describe an idea through a conversation, and we use AI (specifically, Anthropic's Claude) along with web research to generate a detailed analysis report. Each report costs one credit.

AI-generated content

This is important, so we're being very clear about it:

• All research reports are generated by AI. They are not professional business advice, legal advice, financial advice, or any other kind of professional advice.
• AI can and does make mistakes. Reports may contain inaccuracies, outdated information, or errors.
• You are solely responsible for verifying any information in the reports before making business decisions.
• We provide reports as a starting point for your own research, not as a substitute for professional judgment or due diligence.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any report.

Credits & billing

• Credits are purchased in packs through our website. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
• Each research report costs one credit.
• Credits do not expire.
• All prices are in US dollars and exclusive of any applicable taxes.
• We reserve the right to change pricing. Any price changes will not affect credits you've already purchased.

Refund policy

We want you to be happy with the service. Here's how refunds work:

• Unused credits are refundable within 60 days of purchase, no questions asked.
• Used credits (credits that have been spent on a report) are non-refundable, as the AI processing and web research costs are incurred at the time the report is generated.
• If you purchased a credit pack and used some credits, we'll refund the unused portion on a per-credit basis.
• After 60 days, all sales are final.

Your intellectual property

Your ideas are yours. We don't claim any ownership over the business ideas you describe or the content you provide. You retain all rights to your ideas.

The reports we generate for you are provided for your use. You may use, share, and build on them as you see fit. However, the underlying platform, code, design, and methodology of Front of the Napkin remain our intellectual property.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Front of the Napkin to:

• Violate any laws or regulations
• Submit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or hateful
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' accounts
• Abuse, overload, or interfere with our systems or infrastructure
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the service
• Resell or redistribute the service without our permission

Cancellation & account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from your Account Settings page. When you delete your account:

• All your personal data, ideas, conversations, and reports are permanently deleted.
• Any remaining unused credits are forfeited. If you'd like a refund for unused credits, please contact us before deleting your account.
• This action cannot be undone.

Limitation of liability

You acknowledge and agree that we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, regardless of whether we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

In particular: since our reports are AI-generated, we are not liable for any decisions you make based on report content. The reports are informational tools, not professional advice.

Service availability

We do our best to keep Front of the Napkin running smoothly, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We may need to take the service down for maintenance, updates, or unforeseen issues.

If we shut down

If we ever discontinue Front of the Napkin, we'll give at least 60 days notice so you can use your remaining credits and export your data before the service closes.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know by email or by placing a prominent notice on the site. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Wyoming.
